The round of video heat entries for 2010 have been judged and finalists have been selected for this year's Asia-Pacific Pole Dance Championships! The competition was fierce, with so much incredible talent coming locally and internationally from across the Asia-Pacific region. Here are the finalists for each division, in alphabetical order.

» Judges

The professional judging criteria used has been endorsed by the International Pole Federation and is setting the standard for the industry of a fair, transparent and regulated scoring system. The judging panel is made up of experienced professionals from the fitness/dance/pole dance industries. Directors and shareholders of Australian Pole Dance Pty Ltd have no influence on the finalists chosen.

The judging criteria comprises of 3 individual areas – Technical, Movement, X-Factor. World-class 2 hour workshops with all three judges will be held on Friday 27th August. Book now to reserve a place to learn from these internationally renowned performers.

Jamilla Deville - Art of Pole

Jamilla Deville is Australia's original Pole Dance Champion, the founder of the International Pole Federation, the current International Pole Dance Fitness Association Instructor of the Year, and the creator of the world-renowned instructional series, The Art of Pole DVD Collection.

With a background in various dance, acrobatic and aerial forms, and ten years in the pole dance industry, she is one of the world's leaders in pole dance instruction and performance. www.artofpole.com

Adam Davis - Cirque du Soleil

Adam Davis completed a Bachelor degree at the National Institute of Circus Arts in 2005 where he specialised in Chinese Poles. Flying Trapeze, Acrobatics and Adagio. Adam first became an international performer at the Singapore Arts Festival in 2002 performing Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art/dance. Adam has performed through a wide range of mediums locally and nationally for companies such as Nestle, Lexus, Buena Vista, Optus, L'Oreal fashion and Fashion Assassins.

SKILLS: Flying Trapeze, Hoop Diving, Chinese Poles, Adagio, Capoeira, Circus Arts, Stunt work, Acrobatics.

Adam is employed by Cirque du Soleil since December 2007 & is currently performing Chinese Poles (french style) for Cirque du Soleil 'ZED' in Tokyo.

Ania - International Pole Dance Fitness Association

Ania Przeplasko is the founder of International Pole Dance Fitness Association. She was born in Poland in a sports and art oriented family. She is an internationally well-known performer and instructor of pole dance. As an early pioneer of pole dance fitness, she has designed pole dance exercises, which are now circulating in international fitness networks.

Since 2000 she has taught pole dancing around the globe. Moreover, she has performed for such prestigious brandnames as Armani, Hugo Boss, Omega…and many others. Her image has been used for pole dance advertising for fitness network PURE.  www.ipdfa.com

The Title:
Competitors will be competiting for the title of Asia Pacfic Pole Dance Champion 2010 for their division. With this comes respect, recognition and acclaim. You are free to use this title to promote yourself, your pole school or your business. More prizes will be announced closer to the date.
